As (Senior) Software Test Engineer (m/f/d) at Sentronics Metrology (a Nova Company) you will play a key part in ensuring the reliability, performance and robustness of our software stack. You’ll collaborate closely with software developers and system engineers to define and drive test activities across multiple layers: from automated unit and integration testing to hands‑on validation on the actual optical measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks, primarily in C#
  • Developing automated tests across application logic, device communication, data processing, and user interface layers
  • Executing integration and system-level tests on complete optical metrology systems in the lab environment
  • Defining test strategies, test plans, and test cases for new features and software releases
  • Troubleshooting issues across software, hardware, and system interfaces
  • Collaborating closely with Software Engineering to improve testability, CI integration, and code quality
  • Driving the adoption of best practices in software testing and validation
  • Contributing to the development of a scalable and future-ready testing infrastructure

Requirements

  • Strong academic background with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
  • Proven experience in automated software testing, including test frameworks, test design, and CI-based validation, preferably in C# environments
  • Solid understanding of testing complex systems with interfaces to hardware, firmware, and software components
  • Hands-on experience validating software on integrated systems and real equipment, not only at code level
  • Structured, analytical working style with a strong focus on quality and root-cause driven problem solving
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across Software, Hardware, and interdisciplinary R&D teams
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English
