As Team Lead Manufacturing Engineering (m/f/d) at Sentronics Metrology (a Nova Company) in Mannheim, you will build, manage, and develop a high-performing team responsible for ensuring robust, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing of our metrology systems. You will lead initiatives that improve production processes, drive operational excellence, and translate engineering concepts into practical, scalable solutions.
This is a key role at the operational–technical interface, with significant influence on product quality, manufacturability, and delivery performance.

Responsibilities
- Leading the Manufacturing Engineering team to ensure scalable, manufacturable, and high-quality production ramp-up
- Developing a strong Manufacturing Engineering organization through hiring, coaching, and establishing engineering best practices and standardized processes
- Collaborating closely with Operations, R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain
- Driving customer-specific product configurations and system variants while ensuring manufacturability, consistency, and cost-efficient implementation
- Defining, maintaining, and governing production SOPs and work instructions to ensure engineering and operational compliance
- Training production teams and ensuring adherence to released engineering documentation and manufacturing standards
- Managing accurate BOMs in collaboration with R&D and Supply Chain, including structured ECR/ECO governance and controlled updates
- Ensuring production teams operate with current, released, and controlled engineering documentation at all times
- Ensuring availability, capability, and continuous improvement of production test equipment and validation setups
- Coordinating development of new test systems with R&D and managing calibration, maintenance, and upgrade cycles to ensure reliable production testing
Requirements
- Strong academic background in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines
- 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization or production-related R&D, ideally in high-tech or semiconductor-equipment environments
- Experience in metrology, optics, precision systems, or semiconductor capital equipment
- Deep understanding of complex electromechanical products and system integration
- Initial leadership experience in technical teams or engineering projects
- Hands-on experience with production test equipment design and maintenance
- Proven ability to optimize production processes and introduce structured improvements
- Strong documentation discipline and experience with SOPs, ECRs, and BOM management
- Lean / Six Sigma certification and experience with ERP/PDM systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, cross-functional working style
- Professional working proficiency in German and English
